Job Description
Finance Business Partner (FBP) for MCV to conduct insightful analytics and facilitate strategic decision-making by Divisional Director, CFO, CEO & Ex-Com.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES/DELIVERABLES
Vessel-by-vessel P&L analysis, variance analysis and provide insights on line item performance
Implement revenue early trend analysis and red-flag analysis (idle fleet), quarterly initiatives review for MCV
Receivable control – a complete ownership of the receivables and recovery
Balance sheet reviews
Cashflow analysis and delivering cash sufficiency analysis
Design short route financial models for pricing decision
Competition benchmarking – market research
Review the Charter Party / Contracts and highlight clauses / provisions which should requires specific sign-offs from the Ex-Com; further summarize the revenue maximization opportunities (Demurrage, Bunker claims etc.) on existing as well as upcoming contracts
Ensure that the billing summary is reviewed and implement efficiency / improvement in billing and receivable collection
Strengthening operational and financial processes (order to cash, contract management, country risk management /credit policy etc.
Implement robust financial controls and compliance procedures
Proactively lead select commercial and cost excellence projects – review bunkering, port charges
Support Head of Business Performance for MCV valuation (retain or sell analysis) or strategic decisions (JV structuring options, agencies etc.)
Create handy data book for Corporate Finance Controller/Head of Business Performance on key metrics / performance (excel repositories and dashboards)
Support the Budgeting and quarterly reforecast process (setting excel templates, analysis, engagement with cross-functional teams etc.)
Finance support for the bi-weekly / monthly review calls
Active participation in daily operational / commercial meetings and being single point of contact for commercial – operational stakeholders (Finance representative)
SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualification in Finance domain, with proven experience in a similar role for at least 2 to 3 years
Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of accounting principles and analytics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel required. Advanced knowledge of financial modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power point, Power BI).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
