Lead Piping Engineer Full Time

Job Overview:

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Lead Piping Engineer to join our Mechanical (Piping) team within the Oil, Gas & New Energies sector. This role will be based at the client’s office, with the possibility of relocation to onshore sites within Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost and schedule management, ensuring project delivery aligns with client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project & Scope Management: Lead all piping-related aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with engineering codes and standards.
• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on piping engineering queries and participate in safety and design reviews.
• Operational Support: Liaise with Client’s Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Quality & Compliance: Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external teams to optimize project efficiency.
• People & Talent Development: Support succession planning, mentoring, and coaching of team members.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous enhancements in technical assurance frameworks and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• At least 5 years as a Lead Engineer in an engineering design company.
• Strong EPC project experience in onshore upstream oil & gas.
• Familiarity with international codes and standards for commissioning.
• Experience working in the Middle East is a plus.
• Proficiency in commissioning software tools.
