Commis Chef (Bakery) Full Time

Position Overview:
As a Commis Chef in the Bakery section, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality bakery products while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You will support the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef in daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of culinary preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare bakery items according to standard recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Assist in maintaining the bakery section of the kitchen, ensuring all ingredients and tools are organized.
• Ensure that food preparation and presentation meet Hyatt International and Andaz standards.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
• Work closely with the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef to support daily operations and prepare all bakery items to specification.
• Adhere to portion control and wastage reduction procedures.
• Maintain proper storage and labeling of food products to ensure freshness and safety.
• Take responsibility for your section and tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in baking and food service.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of work experience as a Commis Chef, or 2 years as an Apprentice in a hotel or restaurant with good standards.
• Basic culinary skills with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.
• Knowledge of hygiene and food safety practices, specifically in bakery operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for culinary arts.
• A flexible, customer-oriented approach and the ability to work in a team.
