Position Summary:

Sheraton Mall of the Emirates Hotel Dubai is seeking an enthusiastic Commis 2 to join our culinary team. This entry-level culinary role will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation. The Commis 2 will work closely with the kitchen team, contributing to a smooth and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash, peel, and cut fresh fruits and vegetables; accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Cook and prepare food in accordance with recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Check food quality during preparation and conduct taste tests to ensure consistency.
• Set up and break down workstations, serving food in proper portions and appropriate dishes.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including tools, knives, and equipment, to ensure safety and hygiene.
• Monitor and ensure the correct temperatures of food and kitchen appliances.
• Follow all safety and security procedures, reporting any maintenance issues to the manager.
• Foster a positive working environment by building relationships and working effectively with colleagues.
• Adhere to quality standards and perform additional duties as required by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional kitchen.
• Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills; commitment to food safety and quality.
