Assistant Pharmacist Full Time

Assists pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications. Maintains proper inventory, monitors expiration dates and maintains necessary records.

1. Incumbent is responsible for compounding (when applicable) and dispensing medications and preparations for   medical outpatients and inpatients per prescription and/or medication order by Physicians and dentists in accordance with the formulary, as developed by Pharmacy Services Division to meet the standards set by, UAE Government and Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
2. Initiates and maintains computerized and manual (where applicable) patient medication profiles to screen for contraindications, allergies, correctness of dose, drug/drug and drug/food interactions, pharmacological duplication of therapy and adherence to drug restriction policies.
3. Performs specialty pharmacy activities as delegated.
4. Incumbent follows proper handling and storage procedures of medications and

can recognize physical and chemical changes what may occur during storage to avoid

dispensing of such medications.

1. Incumbent should be familiar with the approximate 1,500 line items on the formulary and

is expected to work shifts/hours to meet the operational requirements of the respective unit/group.

1. Pharmacist will be available to provide professional and technical advice and instruction

but the incumbent is expected to exercise due caution in dispensing medications and follow

established guidelines.

1. Prepare prescriptions and the medication related, for the in charge pharmacist and the

second pharmacist to dispense.

1. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs
2. Responsible for proper labeling of high alert medications, concentrated electrolytes

and hazardous material.

1. Coexistence in the pharmacy only during the presence of a pharmacist.
2. Obligation for appliance to all laws, circulars and regulations related to the pharmacy

profession.

1.    Successfully completed ‘secondary school education’
2.    Pharmacy Diploma / Pharmacy technician Program of 2 years duration
3.    Hold a current and valid license to practice home country without any conditions or

limitations

1.    Must have DOH License to practice.
2.   2 years’ Experience of pharmacy practice.
3.   Excellent command of oral and written English.
