Lead Mechanical Engineer Full Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer with expertise in static and rotating equipment for oil and gas (O&G) projects. The role requires technical leadership, ensuring project execution aligns with industry standards, quality management systems, and client requirements. The candidate must have extensive experience in mechanical design, procurement, vendor management, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

HSEQ Compliance

• Ensure all work complies with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
• Identify risks and proactively contribute to safety and quality improvements.

Engineering & Technical Execution

• Lead the design, review, and approval of mechanical engineering deliverables, including mechanical datasheets, material requisitions, and specifications.
• Perform technical bid evaluations (TBE) and manage technical deviations and clarifications.
• Oversee supplier deliverables, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, budget analysis, and resource planning.
• Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Participate in design reviews, inspections, and factory acceptance tests (FATs).
• Ensure projects meet ASME, API, TEMA, and other international mechanical codes.

Project Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, and cross-functional teams.
• Monitor project schedules, resource deployment, and cost control.
• Lead efforts to resolve engineering issues and close punch lists.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for the oil and gas sector (upstream & downstream).
• Expertise in static equipment design (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks) and rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.).
• Proficiency in PV-Elite, Compress, TANK, and FEA analysis.
• Strong knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques (CS, SS, Clad, HIC, NACE MR0175, Cryogenic, Hydrogen, Sour Service, etc.).
