Legal Counsel Full Time

The Legal Counsel is mainly responsible to handle, under the supervision of the Legal Director or the Senior Legal Counsel (as applicable), various legal aspects of Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ development business unit . This includes providing sound and cost-effective legal advice and services to the Business Unit with respect to business growth and continuity.

ROLE PROFILE

• Assist in providing legal advice to leadership, outlining legal implications of business issues, suggesting alternatives to protect interests and mitigate legal and reputational risks.
• Draft and review contracts and legal documents, updating templates based on business needs, legislative changes, and risk analysis.
• Support Legal Director and Senior Legal Counsel on complex legal matters, playing a role in risk mitigation and dispute prevention.
• Assist in negotiations with third parties, providing advice on legal implications and options to protect the business’s interests.
• Support internal stakeholders on legal matters, including employment-related issues.
• Prepare and review documents for relevant authorities in relation to the business unit’s real estate projects.
• Liaise with external law firms for support, advice, and due diligence reviews in relation to the business unit.
• Handle legal actions, liaise with external law firms, review memoranda, and assist in litigation, providing recommendations on appropriate steps to be taken.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive work experience in a reputed law firm or real estate development company, handling legal matters in GCC in a similar role.
• Sound understanding of relevant local and international laws including but not limited to corporate, real estate, civil, commercial, penal and intellectual property.
• Degree in Law from a reputable university.
• Fluent in Arabic & English Language.
