GEMS Cambridge International School is seeking an experienced and passionate French Teacher to join our modern language department. This role involves teaching French at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (iGCSE) and the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) in the future




We are looking for a talented individual who can inspire students to develop a strong command of the French language and foster an appreciation for French culture. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the iGCSE curriculum and experience teaching A-Level French would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
• Develop and implement effective teaching strategies, instructional materials, and assessments to support student learning and progress.
• Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the modern languages department to ensure curriculum alignment, share best practices, and develop high-quality resources.
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and school-wide initiatives.
• Promote the French language and culture through extracurricular activities, cultural events, and exchanges (desirable).

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching French, preferably in a British curriculum setting.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in French or a related field.
• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• Excellent command of the French language, both spoken and written.
• Thorough knowledge of the iGCSE French curriculum and experience teaching the programme.
• Knowledge of the A-Level French curriculum and prior experience teaching it (desirable).
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students.
