Junior Accountant Full Time

To perform the junior accountant role in a fast-paced International business environment, supporting the Finance Manager as required.




Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Contacting suppliers to collect all their invoices and statements of account, on a monthly cycle.
• Receiving, checking and booking supplier invoices in the correct financial period.
• Uploading each invoice and the related supporting documents to the ERP accounting system at the time of booking.
• Reconciling Hytorc books and the suppliers’ books each month and before processing the due payments.
• Reviewing and booking all the Concur expense reports in the right financial period.
• Reconciling the bank accounts and credit card statements each month, including raising adjustments as required.
• Preparing the list of the due vendor payments before the mid-month and month end payments runs.
• Creating and sending sales invoices or credit notes, including to recharge other Hytorc business units as necessary.
• Booking all the bank transactions each month and assisting with cash reporting and cash flow forecasts.
• Raising and completing journal entries whenever required, as agreed and confirmed by the Finance Manager.
• Reviewing the Accounts Receivable aging and following up with the customers or sales team on the overdue balances.
• Calculating and posting prepayments and accruals as part of the monthly closing process.
• Assisting in the VAT Return and Refund process, collecting missing required details and providing copies of the sales and purchase invoices to submit the same to Federal Tax Authority (FTA) on a quarterly basis.
• Assisting with maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register to cover additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Involvement in reconciliation and valuation of stock as part of the month end closing process.
• Ad hoc calculation of commission payable or supporting Sales and Customer Service with price calculations.
• Preparing for and managing completion of cycle and full stock counts.
• Supporting the finance team during the annual external audit process to fulfill all the requirements.
• Any other tasks or projects requested by the Finance Manager, International Controller or CFO.

Education/Experience Required

Accounting qualification attained or training for, such as a Finance degree or Masters qualification (such as MBA) or ACA/ACCA certification; or possessing relevant role experience within a Finance team.

Computer Skills Necessary

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office packages, with advanced knowledge of Excel expected. Prior experience of using an accounts package to produce accounts, such as Sage or Pegasus Opera. SAP experience preferred but not essential due to eventual migration of software.
