Health & Safety Specialist Full Time

We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Specialist to support the implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS) on-site. The role requires promoting a strong Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) culture, ensuring compliance with organizational and client HSE standards, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety and quality.




Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Manager in implementing IMS requirements on-site.
• Enforce quality and HSE policies, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
• Foster a positive QHSE culture through active engagement and awareness campaigns.
• Liaise with client HSE officers and coordinate on-site HSE activities.
• Collaborate with section managers and the Asst. Manager – QHSE to ensure safety and quality standards in operations.
• Conduct Pre-Journey Inspections, including customer-specific inspections for transportation.
• Perform regular workplace, fire extinguisher, and first aid box inspections.
• Maintain accurate and updated QHSE records.
• Facilitate Toolbox Talks, HSE inductions, site QHSE committee meetings, and other awareness programs.
• Organize and coordinate QHSE training for site personnel.
• Investigate incidents, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective/preventive actions.
• Regularly update trackers for pre-journey inspections, incident reports, near-misses, and traffic fines.
• Inspect cranes and heavy lift equipment to assess their operational safety.
• Train drivers in handling Dangerous Goods and perform truck handovers.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in QHSE roles, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Relevant HSE certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are preferred.
