Merchandise Designer Full Time

The Merchandise Designer will be responsible for designing and elevating bespoke merchandise for Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal’s retail portfolio. We are dedicated to deliver unique and memorable merchandise that reflects the essence of each attraction whilst enhancing guest experiences. A core role within the retail department where you will be responsible for creating best in class products and retail experiences for all our guests.




The role includes but is not limited to creating initial concepts, mood boards and detailing concepts through to technical drawings that will be used by our partners to manufacture products. The role will also entail working with suppliers to ensure samples are correct as per the scoped specifications. Reporting to the Buying & Merchandising Manager, the Designer is positioned on a mid-management grade and works closely with wider Buying & Merchandising team to develop collections that reflect the narrative and brand of Atlantis and the retail strategy.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Designing and developing multi category merchandise that reflects the themes and experiences of the Atlantis retail portfolio including concept development through to technical drawings.
• Creating 2D and preferably 3D visual mock ups of products and in-shop collateral.
• Working with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations and third party vendors to ensure cohesive brand messaging and successful product launches.
• In collaboration with our manufacturing partners, developing prototypes and samples for review, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to refine designs.
• Identifying and collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality production of merchandise.
• Creaing engaging in-shop visually appealing point of sale to elevate our guest’s shopping experience.
• Managing multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
• Integrating sustainable practices into the design and production processes where possible, aligning with the Atlantis Atlas project and commitment to environmental responsibility.
• Maintaining accurate records of the design process, materials used and production specifications for all product development.

About You

We are looking for candidates with at least 2 years’ experience in a design role, ideally within the hospitality retail/gifting category. You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Product Design or related field and be able to present a portfolio showcasing diverse work and creative problem-solving skills. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, Rhino & 3D Max is necessary. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present ideas clearly, and efficiently influence stakeholders in a professional manner. Staying up to date with current market trends, consumer preferences and competitive analysis will be crucial for you to make informed design decisions and product offerings.
