Commis 1 – Pastry Kitchen Full Time

Position Summary:
Four Points by Sheraton Sharjah is looking for an experienced and passionate Commis 1 to join our Pastry Kitchen team. In this role, you will prepare pastries and desserts with precision and creativity, following recipes, presentation standards, and maintaining food quality. You will play a vital role in the culinary team, supporting our goal to provide exceptional and memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present high-quality pastries and desserts in accordance with recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Monitor temperature of ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment, ensuring proper cooking and food safety.
• Manage food inventory by pulling items from freezer storage and following proper thawing protocols.
• Ensure proper portion control, food arrangement, and garnish for all dishes.
• Communicate with the Chef regarding excess food items for daily specials or potential waste reduction.
• Maintain accurate food logs and ensure quality and quantity of all prepared items meet established standards.
• Provide assistance to kitchen team members during busy service times and inform Food & Beverage staff of menu specials or unavailable items.
• Follow and uphold all health and safety regulations, report maintenance needs, and complete safety training.
• Exhibit a clean and professional appearance, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Work cohesively with team members to ensure a positive and collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree in Culinary Arts or similar.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a pastry kitchen.
• Physical: Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the kitchen for extended periods, and to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
