Light Duty Driver Full Time

JOB CONTEXT

Emirates Flight Catering based in Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest in-flight catering kitchens in Middle East catering to over 100 airline

customers on a 24×7 cycle. Work in the Supply Chain department is organized function wise and each function has a team of staff trained to handle the work requirements. The Supply Chain department is equipped with the dedicated vehicles. The key challenge of the jobholder is to ensure the punctual delivery of items both at landside and Airside, without violating the traffic laws and the DIA ramp safety regulations.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Drive and handle safely all the company light duty vehicles to ensure the efficient and timely transportation of the Airlines Catering uplift to and from

the aircraft and also to provide transportation to other destinations on the Dubai roads on a shift basis.

2. Ensure transportation of items/goods is on time in compliance with UAE Road traffic regulations at all times.

3. Comply with the U.A.E. road traffic laws and the Ramp Safety regulations related to transportation while driving vehicles on the ramp.

4. Report to the Shift Supervisor any foreseen or unresolved transportation problems pertaining to vehicle maintenance and breakdown that require assistance in solving and report any accident as soon as possible after it occurs with a written report.

5. Assist in carrying out vehicle maintenance checks and make sure to report any mechanical breakdowns for corrective action to be taken.

6. Ensure that the vehicle is washed and kept clean at all times.

7. Apply the Quality Policy and Quality System established in accordance with ISO 9001: 2000 international standards and execute all responsibilities according to the department work procedures while reflecting EKFC Quality Policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualification: No formal education is required. Should have a valid U.A.E. driving license and should have passed the company-driving test

Skills: Should be well versed in written and spoken English; should have knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels; should have the ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded vehicle.
